The Barbara Petchenik Children's Map Competition was created by the ICA in 1993 to promote children's creative representation of the world. Prior to the Conference ICA member nations will collect children's map drawings on the theme “Many lands, one world”.

Bulgaria has 4 participations in BPC – Ottawa 1999, Beijing 2001, Durban 2003 and A Coruna 2005 ICA Conferences and receives 3 prices in 1999, 2003 and 2005.  

DATAMAP-Europe Ltd.
supports all National Competitions, which should be organized to nominate 5 participants for International exhibition.
DataMap
gives prizes to Bulgarian participation, organizes the celebration of children during the National Exhibition and published the greeting card with the winner from Ottawa, 1999.
DataMap
supports also the next national competition for Bulgarian participation BPC 2007 in Moscow, Russia.

Bulgaria has received an AWARD for the best drawing in the Barbara Petchenik Children's World Map Competition
“Many Nations – One world” in the category 9-12 years in A Coruna, Spain, 2005.
