The maps and schemes in this atlas are correspondently simplified (with respect to the children’s age) to represent geographic objects and phenomena in the best possible way. The maps ensure an easy development of spatial thinking of the children. The Atlas contains elaborated explanations and guidance for usage, which are organized on the left pages for students in year 1 and on the right pages for students in year 2. The goal is an additional stress on the work with maps taking into consideration the natural curiosity of the children. |

The Atlas gives the opportunities for learning of cartographic elements by the theme: the world directions; compass; symbols; representation of water and lands. The geographical and historical maps in the Atlas are easy for understanding. The contour maps could be help teachers and students for knowledge assimilating and testing. The historical maps follow the logic and historic succession of learned themes in 3rd and 4th grade of Bulgarian schools. They are connected with the reach history of Bulgaria. The represented themes: Solar System; plants and animals; preserved objects are in help of school object “The person and nature”. The design of the Atlas combines children’s drawings, photos, and artists’ illustrations. |
